FF DIN has been ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ expanded to a family of five weights. For each weight there is ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ an Alternate cut with old style figures, circular i-dots and ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ full points and oblique terminals on some characters. ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ The original DIN-Mittelschrift is built up from strokes having ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ a constant thickness, all curves being drawn with a pair of ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ compasses. This provides a spotty typeface with quirky letter- ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ forms, as can especially seen in the characters a, e and s. ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ Compared with characters with fewer strokes, such as b, d, p, q, ÛÛ Û Û ÛÛ and o and n they appear rather black.
